Radiation Therapy for Multiple Myeloma

This type of radiation therapy uses beams of energy to penetrate the body’s tissue in order to kill cancer cells. Treatment focuses only on the areas of the body where you feel pain.
A machine delivers radiation from outside of the body to the tumor. Treatments are given in fractions—in several doses, usually once a day for five days a week over several weeks. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Langone doctors have shown that radiation used to treat multiple myeloma pain can be given at the same time as medical therapy.
