NYU Langone Health announced today that an agreement that brings together Ҵý Winthrop Hospital’s Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) and Lutheran Care at Home, Ҵý Langone Hospital—Brooklyn’s CHHA, has received regulatory approval from the New York State Department of Health.
The formalization of this partnership, under the direction of Ҵý Winthrop’s Certified Home Health Agency, enables the Ҵý Langone Health system, which includes Ҵý Langone Health, Ҵý Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and Ҵý Winthrop Hospital, to serve patients across the five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island through one comprehensive program, expanding the reach and impact of Ҵý Langone Health’s home health agency services and bringing the expertise of Ҵý Langone’s healthcare to an even broader patient population.
“The merger of these two entities will create synergies and facilitate the establishment of new programs to serve the vast needs of patients across the entire Ҵý Langone Health system,” said Robert I. Grossman, MD, dean and CEO of Ҵý Langone Health. “Merging the Lutheran CHHA into Ҵý Winthrop will also streamline operations and maximize efficiencies for the system across overlapping geographical areas.”
“Without question, the joining of these two forces means greater opportunities for both home health agency staff and the scores of patients who benefit from the top-notch home health services that are delivered each year,” said John F. Collins, president and CEO of Ҵý Winthrop Hospital.
Ҵý Winthrop’s CHHA, has traditionally provided services in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties, and has been operating for 35 years under the leadership of a strong and successful management team. The Ҵý Winthrop CHHA is accredited by The Joint Commission and, year after year, has earned its rightful place in the prestigious HomeCare Elite®—a national award that recognizes excellence in home health services based on performance measures in quality outcomes, process measure implementation, patient experience, quality improvement, and financial performance.
